Esterline Corporation (NYSE:ESL) (www.esterline.com), a leading specialty manufacturer serving aerospace/defense markets, today said that its Chairman and CEO, Robert W. Cremin, has been appointed British Honorary Consul in Seattle.

British Consul General, Martin Uden, said in a formal announcement, "...I'm delighted that Bob has been confirmed in this position. The fact that a businessman of his standing has agreed to take on this role says a great deal about the strength of ties between Washington State and the United Kingdom. It's an important relationship and we want to ensure there is a visible and respected British presence in Seattle."

Cremin said that although Esterline's corporate office and several of its subsidiaries are headquartered in the Northwest, the company employs more than 1,100 British citizens and that more than 20% of Esterline's annual revenue is generated from its nine U.K. manufacturing facilities. Cremin added that, "...many of our most important customers are either headquartered in England or have major operations there. My taking on this role should positively reflect Esterline's continued commitment to building successful business relations in England."
