Achema plans to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Statoil, which already supplies gas to Lithuania via the LNG terminal in Klaipeda. Late in January, the two companies plan to sign a one-year gas supply contract under which Achema in 2016 would purchase approximately 500 million cubic meters of gas at a lower price than paid to Statoil for gas by the Lithuanian state-owned gas trade company Litgas.
