Lucerne, 12 January 2009 - Erich Kienle, Head of Fresh Products International and Head of Marketing for the Emmi Group, has decided to leave the company. Matthias Kunz, current Head of the International Cheese Division and member of Group Management, will take over operational management of all international business.

Erich Kienle, member of Group Management at Emmi, has decided to leave the company. This decision comes in light of the planned organisational adjustments in the Marketing area. Erich Kienle joined the Emmi Group in 1987 as a food engineer and manager of the Development department. He has been Head of Fresh Products International since the beginning of 2005 and took over as Head of Marketing for the Emmi Group in 2006. Erich Kienle has played a significant role in shaping the development and launch of strategic products such as Emmi Caffè Latte. Under his leadership, Emmi expanded its international fresh products business in Germany and Austria. The Emmi Group expresses its regret at Mr Kienle's decision and thanks him for his years of service and his valuable contribution to the company.

Matthias Kunz will take over operational management of all international business. As Head of the International Cheese Division and member of Group Management, he already oversees a large portion of the company's international activities. Born in 1960, Matthias Kunz has been a member of Group Management at Emmi since 2002 and comes with many years of international experience.

The transition period until a successor for the Marketing department has been appointed will be determined internally.
