EDP Renovaveis SA announced that it has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) in the US to sell 90% of the output of a 150-MW/213-MW DC solar project in Illinois. The renewable energy company did not mention the name of the off-taker, revealing only that it is a large US-based technological company. EDPR expects the solar project, located in a former coal mining area in Fulton Country, to be up and running next year.

The Portuguese renewables company currently has 3.1 GW of solar capacity in operation and under construction in North America, it noted.
