STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Crane Co. (CR) on Monday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $112.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had a loss of $1.89 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $1.58 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.57 per share.

The maker of engineered industrial products posted revenue of $837.5 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $133.3 million, or $2.20 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.28 billion.

Crane expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.20 to $6.50 per share, with revenue expected to be $3.5 billion.

Crane shares have fallen 3% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $83.82, a climb of roughly 6% in the last 12 months.
