NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS/PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND CONNECTED PERSONS

Compass Group PLC (the "Company") announces the following change in the interests of Directors in ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the share capital of the Company ("Shares").

On 23 January 2012, Gary Green, a Director, who is responsible for the Group's US and Canadian businesses, exercised 350,000 share options at an option price of 422.00 pence per Share and retained all of the resulting Shares.  On the same day, Mr Green sold 458,750 Shares at a price of 613.6902 pence per Share.   

Following these transactions, Mr Green's shareholding is 956,856 Shares, representing 0.0503% of the Company's issued share capital.
