FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX Broker) - Commerzbank shares reached their highest level since February 2012 on Wednesday after the quarterly report at the beginning of the year.

The bank's shares gained more than 4 percent to 14.915 euros. For the year as a whole, they are outpacing Deutsche Bank shares, which are up 38 percent. Deutsche Bank shares are up 30 percent.

Their analyst Benjamin Goy praised the results of the competition in his first reaction. Not only the results of Commerzbank, but also the mix was good, said Goy. In addition to interest income, the costs were also convincing and, apart from Poland, there were no significant one-off effects.

Commerzbank is also confident that it will achieve more in net interest income in 2024 than before./ag/zb
