China Machinery Engineering : CMEC Exhibition Company Continues to Top the List of Number of Exhibitions

On the morning of January 14, at the 12th China EXPO Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO2016) held in Yinchuan, Ningxia, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) released 2015 China Exhibition Economic Development Report, according to which, in 2015, the overseas exhibitions of China achieved a steady increase and a total of 1,507 exhibition plans were implemented, with a total area of 731,000 square meters, up 2.3% over 2014. Against such a backdrop, China's overseas exhibition market showed the trends below in 2015: first, downsizing of the overall scale; second, slow momentum of exhibition in emerging markets; third, further development of traditional industrial exhibitions; fourth, clear trend of concentration of exhibition organizers; fifth, further enhancement of scale and influence of self-run exhibitions; sixth, initial success of exhibition in 'OBOR' countries.

The Report makes the following predictions on the development trend of China's exhibition market in 2016: the structural adjustment will accelerate, the quantity of market-oriented and specialized exhibitions will grow significantly, investment in as well as construction, management and operation of exhibition halls will be more market-based over time; the process of optimization and restructuring will speed up through capital operation -- it is predicted that more state-owned enterprises and government capitals will, through the capital market, take part in merging and restructuring of exhibitions as well as construction and operation of exhibition halls in the future, thereby promoting the market-oriented process of the exhibition industry; 'Internet+' is expected to become the driving force for innovative development of the exhibition industry. Exhibitions feature abundant resources, short time and complicated structure of participants; exhibition halls will be in the face of divergence and integration -- intensifying competitions in the market of exhibition halls will accelerate the trend of centralization of the market.
