Chashma Sugar Mills Ltd. Reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of PKR 1,324,464,000 compared to PKR 2,244,370,000 a year ago. Profit from operations was PKR 45,542,000 compared to loss from operations of PKR 88,286,000 a year ago. Loss before taxation was PKR 62,170,000 compared to PKR 145,443,000 a year ago. Loss after taxation was PKR 4,515,000 compared to profit after taxation of PKR 144,376,000 a year ago. Loss per share was PKR 0.16 compared to earnings per share of PKR 5.03 a year ago.
For the six months, the company reported net sales of PKR 2,269,032,000 compared to PKR 4,115,668,000 a year ago. Profit from operations was PKR 198,004,000 compared to loss from operations of PKR 67,683,000 a year ago. Profit before taxation was PKR 17,462,000 compared to loss before taxation of PKR 45,657,000 a year ago. Profit after taxation was PKR 67,752,000 compared to loss after taxation of PKR 175,458,000 a year ago. Profit per share was PKR 2.36 compared to loss per share of PKR 6.12 a year ago.

The Company is principally engaged in manufacturing, production, processing, compounding, preparation, and sale of sugar, other allied compounds, intermediates, and allied products. The Company operates in two segments: Sugar and Ethanol. The Company operates an industrial undertaking at, Dera Ismail Khan in the Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa province to manufacture, produce, process, compound, prepare, and sell sugar and other allied compounds, intermediates, and products thereto. The Companyâs products include Sugar, Molasses, Bagasse, and Ethanol. The Companyâs ethanol fuel plant produced approximately 32,747 metric tons of ethanol. The Companyâs subsidiaries include Whole Foods (Private) Limited and Ultimate Whole Foods (Private) Limited. Its manufacturing facility is located at Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
