Cellnex Telecom SA said Thursday that its net loss for the first half widened amid higher costs for acquisitions as the group targets geographic expansion.

The Spanish wireless-telecommunications company posted a net loss of 170 million euros ($173.4 million) compared with a loss of EUR67 million for the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization--another key profitability measure--climbed to EUR1.28 billion from EUR804 million.

Revenue increased to EUR1.69 billion from EUR1.06 billion.

For the year, Cellnex targets revenue from EUR3.46 billion to EUR3.51 billion, and adjusted Ebitda between EUR2.65 billion and EUR2.7 billion.
