CALGARY ALBERTA, Alberta (AP) _ Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. (CP) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $422.1 million.

The Calgary Alberta, Alberta-based company said it had net income of 59 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 75 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 76 cents per share.

The railroad posted revenue of $1.62 billion in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.58 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $2.28 billion, or $3.33 per share. Revenue was reported as $6.38 billion.
