CACI International Inc (NYSE: CACI) announced today that it has been awarded a $39 million task order contract to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in developing a standards-based IT system to modernize and streamline the security clearance process. This delivery order falls under DoD's Encore II contract vehicle and is for a seven-month base period and nine overlapping option periods of varying lengths. This is new work for CACI and expands the company's Business System Solutions core capability.

As the DoD's largest logistics combat support agency, the DLA provides worldwide logistics, acquisition, and technical support to the military services as well as several civilian agencies and foreign countries. With this task order, CACI will provide software engineering and integration services to help develop a Service Oriented Architecture-based solution that will increase the efficiency and timeliness of DoD's security clearance process, from eligibility verification and credentialing to hiring and re-investigations.
