HOUSTON (Jan. 5, 2015) - Bureau Veritas today announced that Laurence Hayden, director of Measurement and Allocation Services for Inspectorate (a Bureau Veritas company), and Rod Harvey, senior director of operations for the Great Lakes Region of the Health, Safety and Environmental Services division will speak at the Crude Oil on Rail Enterprises (CORE) Summit titled: 'The Evolution of Hydrocarbon Testing and Tank Car Standards; What Does The Future Hold?' The Petroleum Club of Houston, located at 1201 Louisiana Street, will be hosting the event on January 12, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The complimentary summit presented by members of CORE is a continuing series of interactive discussions on current energy matters, rail transportation, and the logistics of moving petroleum products by rail.

As speakers, Hayden will present an overview on the evolution of hydrocarbon testing, measurement and analysis. Harvey will immediately follow discussing enhanced tank car standards and operational controls for the high-hazard flammable trains (HHFT) final rule.

Speaker Bios

Laurence Hayden is the Director of Measurement and Allocation Services, focusing on upstream services, for Inspectorate, a Bureau Veritas Group Company. Laurence has almost twenty years of laboratory experience in the oil and petroleum industry, the majority of which has been with Inspectorate, for whom he has run laboratories in several countries around the world. Laurence has a B.Sc. (Hons.) from the University of St Andrews and is a certified auditor.

Rod Harvey is the Senior Director of Operations, Great Lakes Region for Bureau Veritas' Health, Safety and Environmental Services division. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Lawrence University and his Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. Rod has spent his entire professional career in environmental, health and safety consulting and has over twenty eight years of experience. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and a Certified Safety Professional, and is registered as a Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois.
