Eidetic Communications Inc. announced it is collaborating with Broadcom Limited on NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) with TCP/IP transport. The platform provides disaggregation of compute and storage resources by allowing Eideticom's NoLoad™ NVMe accelerator to be accessed and shared across the network using standard TCP/IP transport protocols. Utilizing Broadcom's highly-optimized BCM58800 NetXtreme S-Series storage target SoC to support NVMe-oF with RDMA and TCP/IP, the solution optimizes throughput, power consumption and cost for scale-out storage applications. Leveraging the ubiquitous TCP/IP protocol present in today's data center network, NVMe-oF with TCP/IP allows data center operators to deploy NVMe-oF over their  existing IP networks, thereby lowering the costs and complexity of implementing  NVMe-oF. This will allow data center operators to take advantage of composable/disaggregated storage to address large, data-intensive workloads for advanced applications, including high performance computing and deep learning.
