Braskem units in Alagoas registered record PVC production last week, manufacturing 1,383 tons of the material in a single day. With nameplate production capacity within 24 hours of 1,350 tons, the surpassing of this level by 33 tons is the product of technical adjustments to capture synergies between the two plants.

"The figure demonstrates the importance of working intelligently in production areas. Our team is constantly pursuing new opportunities to boost production, achieving increasingly more precise programming for the production of each type of resin," said Marco Aurélio Campelo, manager of the PVC plant in Marechal Deodoro.

With investment of R$1 billion, the largest ever made by the company in a single project, the unit inaugurated in 2012 serves clients in sectors of strategic importance to Brazil's development, such as home building, basic sanitation and infrastructure, consolidating the country's leadership in PVC production in Latin America.
