AT&T and BlackRock have picked the next market for their broadband joint venture.

The companies' venture, called Gigapower, plans to expand its fiber network to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

AT&T and BlackRock announced their Gigapower JV at the end of 2022. Last year, the company said it planned to build fiber in Las Vegas as well as Mesa, Ariz. Gigapower also agreed to expand to the Chandler and Gilbert areas of Arizona, in addition to parts of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Alabama and Florida.

Gigapower is a so-called open-access fiber platform that will let other internet providers, including AT&T and its rivals, access the infrastructure to sell internet service.
