Beach Energy Limited (ASX: BPT, Beach) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen (Sam) Algar as Group Executive Exploration & Subsurface and Thomas Nador to the role of Group Executive Development.

Mr Algar and Mr Nador will replace Beach's current Group Executives for Development and Exploration, Geoff Barker and Jeff Schrull, who will both be departing Beach and returning to Perth.

Mr Algar brings over 25 years' experience in the energy industry, having held senior leadership and executive roles in Australia and internationally, including the UK, Indonesia, Malaysia, Canada and the USA, looking after global exploration portfolios. Most recently Mr Algar was Senior Vice President, Subsurface and Exploration with ASX listed Oil Search Limited.

Mr Algar holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Geology from Oxford University and a PhD Geology from Dartmouth College in the USA. Previous employers include Ophir Energy, Murphy Oil, ENI, LASMO and Enterprise Oil.

Mr Nador has been promoted to the position of Group Executive Development, having commenced with Beach in July 2019 as General Manager, WA Development, representing Beach in the Waitsia Joint Venture.

Mr Nador has over 25 years' experience in the energy sector at senior management and executive levels. He has held previous roles as Executive Vice President and Country Manager for InterOil in Papua New Guinea, as well as Development Manager, Project Interface Manager and Project Integration Manager for LNG projects at Woodside Energy

Mr Nador holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of WA, a Post Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Science from Curtin University of Technology and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Beach Managing Director and CEO, Matt Kay, said Mr Algar and Mr Nador will both commence in their new roles on 22 February 2021, while Mr Barker and Mr Schrull will continue with Beach for an interim period to allow for a handover of the Development and Exploration functions.
