Bank Millennium S A : 1st place of the economists’ team in the Refinitiv ranking

In the Refinitiv ranking (previously Reuters) the team of Bank Millennium economists consisting of Grzegorz Maliszewski, Andrzej Kamiński and Mateusz Sutowicz took he first place in the summary of macroeconomic forecasts for 2021. Congratulations!
In the last five years, Bank Millennium economists have been in the top three best forecasters of the Refinitiv ranking no less than four times, in 2019 and 2021 taking first place. This is another ranking, next to the previously published one by Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet, indicating the high and stable quality of the economists' analyses.
Our team was the most accurate in forecasting GDP and the benchmark rate, as they began to believe in interest rate hikes in 2021 much earlier than most analysts. Grzegorz Maliszewski, Andrzej Kamiński and Mateusz Sutowicz have for years been accurately analysing what is happening in the economy and according to Refinitiv as a team they have joined the honourable group of "forecasters of the gold standard". Congratulations!
- This year, we will face new, even more interesting challenges, focusing on assessing the outlook for monetary policy in an environment of high inflation and the expected slowdown in economic growth. The year 2022 may be an extremely interesting period to analyse, just like the previous two years - Grzegorz Maliszewski, Chief Economist of Bank Millennium, commented.
The Refinitiv StarMine Awards for Economic Data and Exchange Rates are given to companies and forecasters who have provided the most accurate forecasts of economic indicators and exchange rates in Reuters polls over the course of the calendar year. The awards are announced in February of the following year.
