Last year we announced our partnership with Bath Rugby and an extension to our sponsorship of their community programmes, Attacking Maths and Girls' Participation Hubs. Attacking Maths will see over 100 sessions of numeracy and tag rugby delivered to 20 primary schools in the local region, promoting health and wellbeing and developing numeracy skills.

The Girls' Participation Hubs is a new programme, creating development coaching hubs across the local counties. Avon Protection have now sponsored 5 Bath Rugby Girls' Participation Hubs in the last 6 months, which is helping deliver greater diversity across the sport.

Over 450 girls have attended the hubs so far, taking part in training sessions and games led by Bath Rugby's grassroots coaches. The day involves a 1.5 hour training session in the morning, a technical contact session in the afternoon and finishes with games. Coaches also have the opportunity to take part in workshops exploring topics such as principles of play. The hubs aim to support Bath Rugby's commitment to drive participation in the sport and support the growth and sustainability of women and girls' rugby in the local region.

Commenting on the growth so far, Paul McDonald, CEO of Avon Protection said:"I'm delighted to see our community partnership with Bath Rugby expanding, increasing our impact within our communityand creating lasting change toraise the profile of women's rugby across the region. We're proud to support our local communities and we're excited to see the growth of this programme and opportunities for young women in sport."
