Atul Ltd. reported standalone unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported total income from operations of INR 4,508.2 million compared to INR 4,545.1 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance costs and exceptional items was INR 351.3 million compared to INR 525.1 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 394.6 million compared to INR 386.2 million for the same period a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 279.0 million or INR 9.41 per basic and diluted share compared to INR 257.6 million or INR 8.69 per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported total income from operations of INR 14,962.6 million compared to INR 13,206.7 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance costs and exceptional items was INR 1,618.6 million compared to INR 1,266.9 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 1,605.4 million compared to INR 855.0 million for the same period a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 1,140.8 million or INR 38.46 per basic and diluted share compared to INR 602.9 million or INR 20.33 per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago.
