ASML and Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) have signed an agreement to expand their collaboration, including more joint research and the training of nearly one hundred PhD students in key areas such as plasma physics, mechatronics, optics and AI.

ASML will invest €80 million over ten years and contribute financially to a new cleanroom building at the TU/e.

The initiative aims to strengthen Brainport's position in semiconductors and train the specialists the industry needs.

The collaboration will increase the availability of PhD students and provide scientific insights relevant to the chip industry and society. With this agreement, we are investing in science in the Netherlands and in the training of experts', commented ASML CFO Roger Dassen.
