Expands ADA's Low-Capex Emissions Product Offering

Highlands Ranch, CO - January 31, 2014 - ADA-ES, Inc. ("ADA"), an Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADES) company, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to license ClearChem® Technology; a patented furnace sorbent injection technology to control sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions from coal fired boilers.  The addition of  ClearChem Technology expands ADA's  industry leading product lines  for low-cost emissions compliance, and provides an integrated solution to meet  the Mercury and Air Toxic Standards (MATS) and other EPA regulations.

ClearChem Technology injects a specially prepared reagent of sub-micron sized particles, commonly calcium carbonate, directly into a boiler or furnace.  It provides fuel flexibility to burn a wider range of coals, enhances Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) capabilities and works in conjunction with other control technologies such as Dry Sorbent Injection systems.  ClearChem Technology has proved successful in multiple full-scale boiler trials, and ADA has  additional customer demonstrations planned.

Ms. Jean Bustard, President of ADA  commented, "ClearChem Technology is a promising new technology that is ideal for smaller power plants that face the challenge of meeting MATS compliance at a reasonable cost.  We are pleased to expand our offerings in a complementary way to our existing products and help meet our customers' needs."

ADA will be exhibiting at the Energy, Utility & Environment Conference (EUEC) in Phoenix, Arizona from February 3-5th 2014  and will have representatives on hand to answer questions pertaining to this technology and its application in the industry.  In addition, more information can be found on our website: www.adaes.com
