Aquantia Corp. announced that it has achieved ASIL B certification on its Automotive connectivity products according to ISO 26262-5 and as determined by the Certification Body for Functional Safety of the SGS-TÜV Saar. ASIL B compliance is a critical requirement for automotive OEMs, and their Tier 1 suppliers, when choosing technology partners to ensure a vehicle’s systems meet the necessary safety levels. Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL), specified under ISO 26262, is a risk classification hierarchy for defining safety requirements. Under ISO 26262, ASILs are assigned by performing a risk analysis of a potential hazard by looking at various risk parameters such as severity, exposure and controllability of the vehicle operating scenario. The functional safety as a process is based on the guidelines specified by ISO 26262, the international safety standard for automotive. The Aquantia Automotive networking products have been approved based on product documentation provided to SGS-TÜV Saar and according to the conditions of ISO 26262. The SGS-TÜV Saar assessed the Aquantia Automotive networking products and found them to be in conformance with the ASIL B target values for Single Point Fault Metric (SPFM) and Latent Fault Metric (LFM). The ASIL B certification is based on a detailed functional safety assessment that considers: The various safety requirements that have been established to mitigate risks to acceptable levels. Smooth management and tracking of these safety requirements. Assurance that standardized safety procedures have been followed in the delivered products.
