Amtel Holdings Berhad reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended Nov. 30, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 17,069,000 against MYR 24,536,000 for the same period in the last year. Profit from operations was MYR 1,829,000 against MYR 619,000 for the same period in the last year. Profit before taxation was MYR 1,964,000 against MYR 707,000 for the same period in the last year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 1,561,000 or 3.17 sen per basic share against profit of MYR 756,000 or 1.53 sen per basic share for the same period in the last year. The Group recorded a lower revenue for the current quarter mainly due to the slow down in sales of the Property Development segment. For the full year, the company reported revenue of MYR 47,417,000 against MYR 56,656,000 for the same period in the last year. Profit from operations was MYR 1,027,000 against profit of MYR 1,088,000 for the same period in the last year. Profit before taxation was MYR 1,145,000 against profit of MYR 1,160,000 for the same period in the last year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 239,000 or 0.49 sen per basic share against profit of MYR 818,000 or 1.66 sen per basic share for the same period in the last year. Net cash used in operating activities was MYR 4,959,000 compared to MYR 4,810,000 for the same period in the last year. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 640,000 against MYR 597,000 for the same period in the last year. The drop in current year's revenue was largely due to lower performance recorded by the Property Development and ICT segments.
