Amfil Technologies Inc. announced that it will be breaking into the US market with its first US based Snakes & Lattes Inc. location slated to open in Tempe, Arizona. The home of the newest Snakes & Lattes Inc. location, dubbed Snakes & Lattes Tempe has been identified and the company has made a deposit with the Tempe, Arizona landlord to open the first US based Snakes & Lattes board game bar/café. Both parties have agreed upon the terms and the lease for the location is currently being drafted and will be signed this week. An architect has been selected and renovations on the location are slated to begin in April. Renovations to the location will not be as extreme as the Midtown location, therefore the costs and construction time will be significantly less, eliminating much of the potential for delays and ensuring that the facility is brought online in a timely manner. The target opening date for the Tempe location is June to July 2018. The company will be renting a residential property in Tempe for approximately 6 months to house Snakes & Lattes Inc. management and staff from Toronto, ON to allow for oversight of the renovation process and a seamless hiring, training, and location launch process. The company has also received commitment from one of Arizona’s most influential board game bloggers and event coordinators to join the team. The location is in Tempe, Arizona at 20 W Sixth Street, in the old Z’Tejas Restaurant which is just off Mill Avenue. Tempe's Mill Avenue District is the hottest entertainment center in Arizona. Known as the hot spot in the Valley of the Sun Phoenix area, Mill Avenue is home to the high concentration of cafes, restaurants, sports bars, microbreweries, unique shopping and nightlife than any other place in the Metro area. Tempe’s Mill Avenue is pedestrian friendly and has lots of parking. The location is minutes away from Sky Harbor International Airport as well as Arizona State University, which has over 72,000 annual enrollees. In company's estimation, there are well over 250,000 college students annually at campuses anywhere from walking distance to a 20-minute drive from the Snakes & Lattes Tempe location. The project has been fully funded by a private investor in Phoenix who has not only agreed to finance the full build out of Tempe but has also committed up to a further 6 locations in the Western and Southwestern United States over the next 5 years as the right opportunities become available in the targeted cities. The company is extremely excited for the official launch into the United States market with Snakes & Lattes Tempe, and further, the subsequent 6 locations in partnership with the financier in Phoenix. The company continues to aggressively pursue several locations in other regions of the United States, including the previously mentioned corporate location and distribution hub in Chicago IL.
