Almirall SA : Almirall celebrates 10 years in Italy

Barcelona, January 30th2013.-Almirall, a pharmaceutical company committed to health and innovation, is celebrating 10 years in Italy. With its headquarters in Milan, Almirall Italy has a team of over 200 employees.

Almirall Italy now provides prescribers and patients with innovative medicines for the treatment of allergies and migraine, together with medications for gastroesophageal reflux and dyspepsia. Almirall also offers dermatological solutions for treating diseases such as actinic keratosis, severe chronic hand eczema and mycotic dermatitis.

According to Javier García, General Manager in Italy, "the overall balance of the first ten years of Almirall's activity in Italy is extremely satisfactory, both in terms of how well our therapeutic solutions have penetrated the market and of the growth of out organisation".

In the decade to come, the respiratory and gastroenterology areas will be crucial for the future. Almirall Italy's next challenge will be to launch innovative medicines such as aclidinium and linaclotide, for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with constipation respectively.

The award for the "Best medical file", which has been bestowed on Almirall Italy for the third year running for its compliance with the highest standards, underlines its commitment to the quality of the data in its medical file.

One of Almirall Italy's most distinctive features is its human value. "For us the most important thing is our people, which is why last year we invested over 2,500 hours in training our team of employees, which we are strengthening in the marketing, medical, sales and market access areas", adds Javier García, speaking as a company executive convinced that a large part of a business's success lies in its human resources.
