Alfen Elkamo supplies transformer substations for strengthening Swedish grid
Alfen's Finnish subsidiary, Alfen Elkamo, has been awarded a multi-year framework agreement for the supply of transformer substations to Vattenfall Eldistribution. It concerns the delivery of about 500 units in the first four years. The agreement, with the Swedish DSO, came into effect in January 2022.
The Swedish grid voltage is 11 and 22 kV and Alfen Elkamo is providing 18 different types of transformer substations for various applications. These substations are deployed in projects where, for example, overhead lines are replaced with underground cables, creating a solid foundation for achieving excellent reliability of supply.
Seppo Tupeli, CEO of Alfen Elkamo Oy, said, "We are proud to contribute to Vattenfall's ambitions. Through our technical knowledge and reliability, we have gained the trust of our customer, which is very important to us and a good starting point for a long-term cooperation."
