Accenture said it plans to invest $3 billion over three years in its practice focused on data and artificial intelligence.

The Dublin, Ireland-based professional-services company said its Data & AI practice will double its AI talent to 80,000 employees through a mix of hiring, acquisitions and training. The company also said it is rolling out a new platform called AI Navigator for Enterprise, which will help clients figure out how to use AI in their businesses.

Accenture Chief Executive Julie Sweet said the practice will help clients take action on their interest in AI.

"Over the next decade, AI will be a mega-trend, transforming industries, companies and the way we live and work, as generative AI transforms 40% of all working hours," said Paul Daugherty, chief executive of Accenture Technology.
