Gabon's state-run Caisses de Stabilisation et de Perequation, or Caistab, said Thursday that its cocoa output should rise significantly by 2025.

"From the government's current strategic plan, cocoa production will be boosted from the current output of 250 metric tons in the 2021-22 season to 3,000 tons by 2025," the Gabonese cocoa company said.

To support production, the government had outlined a $4.3 million program to boost the industry over the next five years and shift the country's dependence from crude oil exports to agricultural exports.
