Shares of energy companies rose as a rate cut from the European Central Bank quelled some economic concerns.

Oil futures rose for the second straight session as the economic outlook brightened somewhat in the U.S.

Saudi Arabia cut the July price for its flagship Arab Light crude to Asian customers after three consecutive raises amid uncertainties over demand and robust supply from countries outside OPEC.

Natural gas futures rose slightly despite an increase in inventories.
