SAO PAULO, June 10 (Reuters) - Brazilian paper and packaging company Irani is considering a new investment program to expand production capacity, it said in a securities filing on Monday.

The so-called "Neos Platform" investment plan is aimed at expanding Irani's forestry base, softwood pulp production, packaging paper production and the capacity for corrugated cardboard packaging production.

The firm said it expected to become Brazil's third-largest corrugated cardboard packaging producer by the end of the program.

Different financing sources for the project are on the table, Irani said, adding that the move is still in an internal study phase and depends on the approval of the company's board of directors.

Local newspaper Estado de S. Paulo had previously reported Irani's plan for a new investment cycle. (Reporting by Luana Maria Benedito, Editing by Louise Heavens)
