5G's taking off. Qualcomm will introduce 5G to its mid-range smartphone chipset as the U.S. reviews sanctions against Huawei in the interest of U.S. companies. Qualcomm's 5G chip is targeted at the $300/$500 smartphone market segment. The U.S. company says that LG Electronics, Lenovo or HMD Global will be customers.

Telia's leaving Turkcell. Telia confirms that it is in discussions to sell its indirect stake in Turkcell to the Turkish sovereign wealth fund for some $530 million. The Scandinavian operator thus reacted to rumors circulating on the market. The transaction has not yet been finalized. Telia owns 47.1% of the holding company which owns 51% of the Turkish operator.

Tesla’s stock. The Wall Street Journal reports that Tesla's sales in California have fallen in the last two months, weighing on the stock. The manufacturer has also entered into a three-year contract with Panasonic for the supply of batteries.

A trio in sight. Tidjane Thiam, Emma Watson and Jean Liu join Kering's board of directors. The former head of Credit Suisse, the actress and the president of the Chinese e-commerce platform DiDi Chuxing. The appointments were validated by the shareholders at the general meeting.

Going up the slope. Unsurprisingly, new car registrations in Europe were still sharply down in May, with a 52.3% year-on-year contraction. However, the decline was less significant than in April, when it reached 76.3%. Over the first five months of the year, the market declined by 41.5%.

William Hill's bet is a sure thing. William Hill led a capital increase of approximately 20% of new shares, raising approximately £245 million. This operation, carried out in parallel with VAT refinancing, will more or less double the liquidity available to the company, Jefferies points out.

Hilton forced to lay off. Hilton is cutting 2,100 jobs in its support functions around the world in response to the consequences of Covid-19.
