PG&E continues to maintain a low pressure on Line 147 until it has been fully inspected and repaired, and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) allows the pressure to be increased. Despite a fairly cold winter thus far, there has not been a shortage of natural gas in our community and gas service has not been disrupted by the continued low pressure on Line 147.
PG&E estimates that this project will be completed by summer, and will request authorization from the CPUC to repressurize the line then. Questions regarding the project should be directed to PG&E representative Francisco Ybarra at 650-730-7057 or by calling 800-743-5000.
'We appreciate the patience of our community members throughout this process,' said San Carlos Public Works Director Jay Walter, 'but we all know how important it is to have PG&E deliver natural gas safely and avoid incidents such as the one that occurred in San Bruno. We feel this work will do that for the San Carlos community.'
