Tom F. Fortin

Mr. Fortin has developed, built and managed middle-market enterprises for the last fourteen years.
Since March 2007, he has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Regional Management Corporation, a Parallel portfolio company.
He has also served as an Operating Partner of the Fund and it’s predecessors since 2001, focusing on health care, consumer finance and educational opportunities.
Mr. Fortin previously served as the Operating Partner and as a director of Senex Financial Corporation.
Mr. Fortin has built and managed a series of medical technology and services companies.
In 1992, he co-founded (and served as Chief Financial Officer of) InLight Solutions, Inc., a developer of blood chemistry monitoring equipment.
Fortin and InLight ultimately raised more than $75 million in corporate research funding and government contracts.
InLight has since spun out three new corporations that have raised more than $50 million in venture funding.
In 1998, he joined EJB Group, a diversified holding company, and served as Vice President Development through 2005.
While at EJB Group, he founded and served as President of TMG Development, a developer and operator of medical imaging centers that grew to $35 million in revenues within two years of commencement.
He separately established Cogent Strategic Advisors, LLC in 2001 to provide advisory services to institutional investors including Parallel.
Mr. Fortin is a graduate of Stanford University, where he received a B.
S.
in Industrial Engineering and Harvard University, where he received an M.B.A.
