Sprecher & Schuh AG
Sprecher & Schuh AG Building ProductsProducer Manufacturing Sprecher + Schuh has provided reliable control and protection solutions for its customers since 1903, when the company was founded in Aarau, Switzerland, by two entrepreneurial engineers. Carl Sprecher and Heinrich Schuh combined their talents to produce some of the most innovative low-voltage control products of their day, including automatic switches, overload devices, high-interrupting capacity fuses, and some of the first oilbreakers. Along with a mission for continual product development and improvement, Sprecher + Schuh were equally interested in promoting the growth of the industry as a whole. In 1906, Sprecher + Schuh played a key role in the formation of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The visionary stance of the IEC was to standardize electrical equipment for the world market, and ultimately facilitate the application of products like theirs internationally. Through efforts of the Commission, such standards as DIN and VDE were adopted with the participation of manufacturers - but more importantly, with the support of industry engineers and people who actually used the equipment. In the years that followed, they expanded their participation in North American based industry organizations to also include the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), the Canadian Standards Association, the Association of High Tech Distributors (AHTD), the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA), and the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED). By actively engaging with other members through these organizations, they are best able to educate themselves regarding the needs of the industry and the needs of the people their products serve. They design their products to answer those needs with quality, reliability and value. They have been fortunate to enjoy sustained growth since the early days, when Carl and Heinrich were regulars on the factory floor. Their North American organization includes a large number of distributors covering the US, Canada and Mexico - all selling the familiar brand that, to this day, is still manufactured with pride primarily at their facility in Aarau, Switzerland and now includes manufacturing facilities around the globe. They credit their success to quality products and attentive service. Without either, they would have undoubtedly failed years ago. Today, Sprecher + Schuh offers a wide range of low-voltage industrial control products, including contactors, a variety of relays, starters, push buttons, switches, terminals and controllers, to name a few. All of their products are crafted with precision and tested rigorously for performance - far exceeding industry standards. Moving forward, they continue in the path of Carl and Heinrich, constantly seeking innovative ways to provide solutions for their customers. It is by this philosophy that Sprecher + Schuh have come to be the industrial control manufacturer of choice for many customers around the globe seeking quality, reliability, and a name they can trust. | Building Products | Corporate Officer/Principal | |
