Scott K. Jones

Dr. Jones is Professor of Accounting, and former Associate Dean of the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, where he is also an affiliated faculty member of the University’s Center for Composite Materials and the Delaware Biotechnology Institute.
He was Scholar in Residence at the Delaware Innovation Fund, Inc. from 2003-2004 and is Director of the UD Venture Management Group.
Dr. Jones is an expert in the cost modeling and economic analysis of advanced composite materials.
He has developed the Profit CueÒ cost modeling methodology, and has participated in many funded research programs in advanced materials with the NSF, US Army, and various defense contractors.
Dr. Jones has advised numerous information and material technology companies in the development of business plans and financial projections.
He is an Officer and Director of the Blue & Gold Club, Inc. Dr. Jones teaches high-technology entrepreneurship in conjunction with the University of Delaware College of Engineering, and venture capital courses for the University’s Executive MBA Program.
He is currently on the board for The Delaware Innovation Fund.
Dr. Jones has published articles in many journals including the Journal of Business Ethics, Advances in Management Accounting, The Accounting Review, The International Journal of Materials and Product Technology, Journal of Business, Finance & Accounting, and has contributed to several editions of Marks' Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineers.
Dr. Jones has received recognition for teaching excellence from the Executive MBA program and for professional contributions from the Society of Plastics Engineers.
He received the Ph.D.
from Drexel University in 1988.
