Michael R. Ward

Prior to joining TRM in 2006, Mr. Ward co-founded A39 Capital Management LLC, a multi-strategy hedge fund investment management group based in San Francisco, California.
As CIO and portfolio manager for A39, Mr. Ward was responsible for the equity investment process, equity risk management, and was a member of A39’s asset allocation committee.
Prior to founding A39, Mr. Ward served as vice president and portfolio manager for Franklin Advisors, Inc. where he was solely responsible for the management of the Franklin US Long Short Fund from 1999 – 2005, as well as its two offshore investment vehicles.
Mr. Ward received the Lipper Performance Achievement Award for the best performing fund in its peer group for the calendar year 2000.
He was ranked #2 of the top 100 best-performing managers by Barron’s in 2002 and was ranked #8 in 2003.
He also served as the lead manager for two Franklin Natural Resource Funds from 1999 through 2001.
From 2002 through 2003, Mr. Ward served as CIO of Franklin Templeton Alternative Strategies, Inc. He was an analyst and portfolio manager for Templeton Global Value Fund, Ltd.
from 1995 through 1999 where he was responsible for equity and commodity investments.
Prior to 1995, Mr. Ward was an analyst and co-portfolio manager for the Franklin Stable Value Fund.
