Michael John Schroeder

Mr. Michael J.
Schroeder is a President & Chief Risk Officer at Wasmer, Schroeder & Co. LLC.
In addition to his various executive functions, he is responsible for the oversight of the Firm’s risk-management process, which includes the Firm’s enterprise and investment-related risk-management strategy, policies, controls and systems.
From 1991 to 2017, he was the firm’s Chief Investment Officer, and was responsible for the Firm’s investment process.
This included the implementation and development of investment strategies, portfolio management, research and trading.
He is a current member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, the Southern Municipal Finance Society, and the Council of Development Finance Agencies Florida Financing Roundtable Advisory Committee.
He is involved in several not-for-profit organizations including the Florida Gulf Coast University Department of Economics and Finance Executive Council; the Education Foundation of Collier County Champions for Learning Advisory Council, serves on the Board of Directors of Friends of Foster Children Forever, and serves as judge for the Kellogg-Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge.
Prior to joining WSC in February 1991, Mr. Schroeder was Vice President of the Investment Services Division at USF&G Asset Management, a unit of USF&G Corporation (now part of Travelers).
From 1979 to 1989 he worked in various roles for a leading regional brokerage firm where he was responsible for underwriting, trading and institutional sales of municipal bonds.
Mr. Schroeder holds a B.S.
in Business from the Carlson School, University of Minnesota.
He is a founding member and past President of the CFA Society of Naples, as well as a past board member of the Estate Planning Council of Naples.
He is a licensed Certified Financial Planner.
