Stewart is senior vice president of gas transmission for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), Sempra Energy’s California regulated utilities.

As senior vice president of gas transmission, Stewart is responsible for the engineering of all gas systems and the operation of the transmission and storage facilities at SDG&E and SoCalGas.
Stewart served as president of SoCalGas’ energy transportation services division (ETS) from July 1998 to December 2001, and senior vice president of ETS from January 1995 to July 1998.
Stewart holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles and attended the Executive Program at the University of Michigan.
He is a registered professional engineer.
