Julia Wakeling-Bird

Julia joined SilverStreet in 2015.
She oversees the management of environmental, social and governance aspects across the Funds as well as all impact assessment and reporting.
She is a member of SilverStreet’s Investment Committee.
Prior to SilverStreet, Julia spent three years as an ESG consultant working primarily on agricultural projects across Africa including in Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Cameroon, Sao Tome, Tanzania, Madagascar, Mozambique, Malawi and South Africa.
Before this she managed research projects for the University of Cape Town for three years.
These projects explored savanna tree-grass dynamics and the boundaries between biomes.
Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Zoology, a Bachelor of Science Honours in Plant Ecology and Systematics, and a Master of Science in Plant Ecology (distinction) from the University of Cape Town.
She is a keen and experienced mountain climber.
