Anwar Abbas is currently the Chairman of the Shariah Board at PT Asuransi Takaful Umum and the Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Board at PT Asuransi Jiwa Syariah Jasa Mitra Abadi Tbk.
He previously held positions such as Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Board at PT Intan Baru Prana Tbk, Chairman of Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah, Director of Religion & Human Resources at Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital, Head of Community Economic Empowerment Division at Majelis Ulama Indonesia, and Deputy Chancellor IV at Prof.
Dr. Hamka University of Muhammadiyah.
He also served as Deputy General Secretary at the International Islamic Confederation of Labour.
Dr. Abbas received his undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees from Universitas Islam Negeri Jakarta.
