David Hobbs is Head of Passive Investment, with global responsibility for passive products for UBS Global Asset Management.
He joined UBS Global Asset Management in 1968, initially as an investment analyst, before moving to portfolio management in 1973.
His roles during a long career at UBS include developing the in-house systems for passive equity management, 25 years of managing index-tracking equity portfolios and responsibility for the UK performance monitoring team during much of the 1980s.
Additionally, Mr Hobbs has specialised in corporate governance.
He leads UBS’s analysis and voting policy for executive remuneration schemes in the UK and is a member of the committee responsible for determining the NAPF corporate governance policy.
David Hobbs is Chairman of the FTSE Equity Indices Committee (which oversees all FTSE’s equity indices) and a member of the Investment Council of the NAPF.
He is also an Affiliate Member of the UKSIP and the CFA Institute, and a member of the Securities Institute.
