Prior to joining Wells Capital Management in 2003, Dr. Benson served as co-founder and chief investment officer of Benson Associates, LLC.
Prior to this, he was the founder and lead portfolio manager of the Qualivest Small Companies Value strategy at Qualivest Capital Management, a subsidiary of U.S.
Bancorp.
From 1984, until his departure in 1997, Dale was the lead manager for all small cap portfolios at Qualivest.
Prior to joining U.S.
Bank in 1973, Dale was an analyst and portfolio manager at Union Planters National Bank.
Dr. Benson earned a bachelor degree from Pacific Lutheran University and a doctorate degree in history from the University of Maine.
He has earned the right to use the CFA designation.
