Carey is President of CSP Advisors, providing services to private equity firms and their portfolio companies, broker dealers, family offices and other financial services/financial technology organizations.
He has successfully developed and commercialized start-up products and services as well as re-energizing mature business models.
He brings extensive experience in all phases of M&A, from upfront strategy to leading accretive, on-target integrations.
His diverse functional leadership roles span front, middle and back office services to both buy side and sell side clients.
Throughout his career Carey has had a keen focus on building profitable global business partnerships and enduring client relationships.

Additional corporate roles were as a Member of ConvergEx Group Executive Committee and Member of Board for ConvergEx’s London Affiliate.
He joined BNY ESI, the predecessor firm of ConvergEx, in 1999 as Managing Director and Head of Marketing & Sales where he focused on developing cross-selling strategies with various Bank of New York sales and client relationship teams, and on building out more aggressive direct client sales strategies and campaigns.
Prior to Joining ConvergEx, Carey had an eight-year career at Salomon Brothers/Salomon Smith Barney where he was Vice President and Head of Prime Brokerage and Clearing Services.
In this position he grew the prime brokerage business into a major product line for the firm, with over $50mm in revenues and over 100 clients across multiple asset classes.
Carey began his career at JP Morgan where he had several product development and leadership roles in the firm’s securities services businesses including global custody, securities lending, depositary receipts and paying agency services.
