Profile

Dr. Brian Berger, MD, is an Associate at Claremont Creek Ventures.
He joined the firm in September 2011.
He is a former medical device startup entrepreneur and co-founder of the Baylor Radiosurgery Center, and he is committed to helping the firm expand its portfolio of young companies who are changing how medicine is practiced in the 21st century.
He previously co-founded Blast, a non-invasive cancer detection medical device startup project out of Stanford, and founded 81 Octaves, a startup that worked to establish a global network of virtually linked tumor ablation centers.
Before he held these positions, Dr. Berger was co-founder and associate medical director of Baylor Radiosurgery Center in Dallas, where he built and designed a $10 million dedicated “showcase” radiosurgery center utilizing both Elekta Gamma Knife and Accuray CyberKnife advanced treatment modalities.
He drove their revenue to $8 million during his four years and established a key strategic alliance with United Arab Emirates Embassy that treated UAE patients from Dubai and Abu Dhabi with radiosurgery.
He began his career as an assistant professor of radiation oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he co-authored the first pediatric brain radiosurgery clinical trial using CyberKnife in the United States.
Dr. Berger holds an MS in Management as a Sloan Fellow from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, an MD degree from the University of Texas Southwestern, and an AB in chemistry from Duke University.
