Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announces that travelers who have a Bancontact debit card and want to book a flight via the WIZZ website, now also can pay for their ticket and related services with this payment method online.

'Bancontact is by far the most popular electronic payment method in Belgium. Consumers can quickly and securely settle their online purchases in the familiar online banking environment of their own bank', says Harry Drok, Wizz Air's Head of E-Commerce. 'With the addition of Bancontact as payment method, we meet a frequently asked demand from our customers who live or work in Belgium. Bancontact is automatically offered to passengers who pay in euros and who have selected Dutch or French as our language on our website or who have a contact address in Belgium.'

Bancontact is taking care of electronic payment traffic in Belgium since 1989 and is the Belgian market leader in electronic payments. By means of a PIN code, a Bancontact debit card can be used to make payments in, for example, shops, petrol stations and also web shops. Bancontact also offers a mobile payment app or one can withdraw cash money from an ATM machine.
