News Release: Whole Planet Foundation® and partners to honor Lauren Conrad and Julie Marie Chavez at pre-Grammy® benefit in Los Angeles

(Los Angeles, Jan. 16, 2014) -- On Thursday, Jan. 23, Whole Planet Foundation and partners will honor Lauren Conrad and Julie Marie Chavez for their commitments to promoting sustainable practices and changing global environments. The celebration will take place at Whole Planet Foundation's annual pre-GRAMMY® benefit, at the historic Village Recorder Studios in Los Angeles. (This is a private event and an unofficial party not affiliated with the Recording Academy).

2014 GRAMMY nominee La Santa Cecilia and leading artists including Yuna, The Parlotones, Jesca Hoop, Charlotte Sabina, Amilia K Spicer and Jonny Kaplan & The Lazy Stars will perform at the benefit.

Proceeds from the evening will go directly to Whole Planet Foundation to fund small loans and entrepreneurship programs for poverty alleviation. To date, Whole Planet Foundation has authorized $41 million and funded more than $­­­29 million in microfinance programs in 58 countries, including the United States.
