Western Asset Emerging Markets Income Fund Inc., Western Asset Global Corporate Defined Opportunity Fund Inc., Western Asset Global High Income Fund Inc., Western Asset Global Partners Income Fund Inc., Western Asset High Income Fund II Inc., and Western Asset High Income Opportunity Fund Inc. announced that, effective January 1, 2015, the Board of Directors of each Fund has appointed Robert D. Agdern as a member of the Board of Directors. In addition, Mr. Agdern has been appointed to each Fund's Nominating Committee and Audit Committee. Since 2002, Mr. Agdern has served a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Dispute Resolution Research Center at the Kellogg Graduate School of Business, Northwestern University.
Western Asset Global Corporate Defined Opportunity Fund Inc. (the Fund) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fundâs primary investment objective is to provide current income and then to liquidate and distribute substantially all of the Fundâs net assets to stockholders. The Fund will seek capital appreciation. The Fund also seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its managed assets in a portfolio of United States and foreign corporate fixed-income securities of varying maturities.
