QUARTERLY STATEMENT OF PRODUCTION, DEVELOPMENT AND EXPLORATION 1 OCTOBER TO 31 DECEMBER 2013 CURRAGH Production

Overburden removal was 1.1 per cent lower than the previous quarter.
Coal production for the quarter was 2,940,000 tonnes (comprising 2,028,000 tonnes of metallurgical coal and 912,000 tonnes of steaming coal), 3.9 per cent higher than the previous quarter due to improved plant performance during the quarter. Metallurgical coal production increased by 1.3 per cent and steaming coal production increased by
10.1 per cent compared to the previous quarter.
For the 12 months to 31 December 2013, metallurgical coal production decreased
5.7 per cent to 7,542,000 tonnes, reflecting the impact of significant wet weather associated with Cyclone Oswald in early 2013 which interrupted rail and port activities.

Development

There was no significant development activity completed during the quarter.
As announced on 20 January 2014 the Wesfarmers Resources division has agreed to acquire Mineral Development Licence 162 located adjacent to the Curragh and Curragh North mining leases.

Exploration

There was no significant exploration activity during the quarter.

BENGALLA Production

Wesfarmers' share of coal production for the quarter was 797,000 tonnes, 10.2 per cent below the previous quarter due to operating in a less productive section of the mine sequence.

Development

There was no significant development activity during the quarter.
