Volta Inc. Appoints Brandt Hastings as Interim CEO

Volta Inc. announced that its Board of Directors appointed Brandt Hastings, Chief Revenue Officer at Volta, as interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Brandt will also retain his title as Volta's CRO. This appointment follows Scott Mercer's decision to step down as Chairman and CEO of Volta last month.

The Board has commenced a formal search for a permanent CEO. Hastings is a revenue executive with two decades of experience building innovative business models and driving transformational growth for global companies such as iHeartMedia and Clear Channel Communications. Brandt currently leads Volta's advertising and charging solutions businesses to deliver measurable impact to top international brands, agency partners, commercial properties, and retail locations.

Brandt has led Volta's strong revenue growth and expanded the company's site partner relationships significantly since joining the company in 2020.

Volta Inc., formerly Tortoise Acquisition Corp. II., primarily owns, operates and maintains electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and has expanded its network across the United States. The Company uses its PredictEV planning software tool internally to predict and forecast expected grid capacity, EV charging penetration and expected charger utilization. The Company operates a network of approximately 2,264 charger points across 23 states and territories. Its business entails partnering with real estate and retail partners with national and regional multi-site portfolios of commercial and retail properties, as well as municipalities and local business owners, to locate and deploy its EV charging stations in various locations, including retail centers, grocery stores, pharmacies, parking lots, restaurants, schools and universities. It also sells charging stations to certain business partners, while continuing to perform related installation, operation and maintenance services.
